Terms of Use
By downloading or using Margin, you agree to these terms together with Apple's Standard EULA.
1. Apple's Standard EULA applies
Margin is licensed to you, not sold. Your use of Margin is governed by the Apple Media Services Terms and the Standard End User License Agreement (Standard EULA), available here: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. The terms below add to and clarify the Standard EULA for Margin specifically.
2. The service
Margin sends article URLs you submit to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) and returns a generated summary. Margin is provided "as is." Summaries are produced by a language model and may contain errors, omissions, or hallucinations. Do not rely on Margin's output for medical, legal, financial, or other consequential decisions without consulting the original source.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit content you do not have the right to access or process.
- Use Margin to violate copyright, scrape paywalled content at scale, or circumvent publisher access controls.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute Margin or its outputs as a competing service.
- Use Margin to generate or process unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
You are responsible for the links you submit and for your own use of the summaries.
4. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds
Margin offers auto-renewable subscriptions (Basic and Pro tiers). Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings.
Free trials, if offered: any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple; request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
5. Quotas and fair use
Each tier has a documented summary quota (Free: 3 lifetime; Basic: 15 per 7-day period; Pro: unlimited subject to fair use). We may rate-limit or temporarily suspend usage that appears automated, abusive, or designed to circumvent the quota.
6. Third-party services
Using Margin requires sending data to third-party services (OpenAI, Apple, RevenueCat) as described in the Privacy Policy. Their terms also apply to their respective portions of the service.
7. Intellectual property
Margin, its design, source code, and trademarks belong to Diego dos Santos. The summaries Margin produces are derivative outputs of the article you submitted; respect the original publisher's copyright when reusing them.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Margin is provided "as is" and without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on a summary. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply only to the extent permitted.
9. Termination
You can stop using Margin at any time by uninstalling the app and cancelling any subscription. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms.
10. Changes
If these terms change materially, we will update the effective date and surface a notice in-app before the change takes effect. Continued use after the update means you accept the new terms.
